BERNADETTE O'CONNOR - Nutritional Therapy

Bernadette O'Connor joined Advanced Chiropractic in November 2007. She qualified in Food Science and Technology from CIT, Cork Institute of Technology and worked in research and development in the Biotechnology/Food Ingredient industry for 6 years where she specialised in food additives and colours.

She holds the National Certificate in Exercise and Fitness (NCEF) from University of Limerick and ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Exercise Specialist Certification. She was recently selected to become part of the General Practitioner Exercise Referral Scheme which is soon to start in the Mid-West area. She holds FETAC Level 5 in Special Needs.

Bernadette studied with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Dublin graduating with a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy and is a professional member of the Irish and British Associations of Nutritional Therapists, MNTOI, MBANT. She worked as a health advisor with a leading manufacturer of natural remedies and provider of nutritional supplements prior to joining the clinic. She also has a practice in Limerick.

Nutritional Therapy has been shown to be beneficial for many conditions, particularly chronic health problems that have not been resolved by conventional treatments. If our body does not get the nutrition it requires our health can suffer and we become ill.

Bernadette will conduct a thourough review of your current health status and explain how your diet and lifestyle may be contributing to your symptoms and health concerns. She will provide you with a personal plan and help you with support and practical guidance to effect nutritional changes, as you move towards optimal health. She has had great success with people who have chronic digestive disorders, high cholesterol, allergies/intolerances, low immunity, insomnia, multiple sclerosis, stress and weight gain.
