The Boghill Centre is a residential activity centre situated off the beaten track, in a natural bog land setting between Lisdoonvarna and Kilfenora in the North of County Clare at the foot of the Burren. Although it is only two miles from Lisdoonvarna and four miles from Kilfenora it has a quiet and secluded atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.  The Boghill complex- set in 50 acres of land- incorporates Boghill House, Boghill Octagon Hall and the buildings that hold the double and single rooms.

Boghill Centre activities

At the Boghill Centre we organise activity weeks and festivals, we host activities, training sessions and meetings organised by others and we support local tutors and groups in the promotion of regular local activities.

For more details about the workshops and courses that we are running click here.

Boghill offers a flexible venue hire package to suit your requirements and the size of your group.

Venues can be hired by the hour, by the half day, by the weekend, or by the week.
Packages can be with or without accommodation and meals.

Groups can take over the entire complex and land or hire an individual room.

Prices are competitive and tailored to each individual package.
Please ring us to discuss your needs or send us an e-mail outlining your requirements.

We offer different spaces which can be hired separately or together:

1. Living room– The large living room with its south facing French windows offers a panoramic view of rolling bog and moor land with distant isolated farms. This room is ideal for study, play or simply relaxing in front of the turf stove. The Living room space is large enough to be used for workshop activities and often hosts music sessions.
The south facing patio stepping down to a sheltered garden is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the sun, the view and sometimes both at the same time.

2. The Octagon Hall A stunning octagon shaped hall that has got to be experienced to behold its beauty. The south facing glass wall offers a breathtaking view across the bog to a stone circle. Ideal for all sorts of activities, it has excellent acoustics, a wooden floor, a serene atmosphere and plenty of space for the most energetic of activities. Using its natural screens the hall can be flexibly arranged to suit your requirements.
The space has many uses – for such varied activities as yoga, meditation, dancing, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, djembe drumming, music workshops, singing, parties, weddings, concerts, training sessions, meetings, conferences etc.

Guests using the Octagon hall can avail themselves of the kitchen facilities for refreshments.

Step out from the Octagon Hall onto a spacious deck area to enjoy the sun. It is large enough to hold impromptu gatherings if the weather is favourable.

Dining room  The dining room adjoining the large vegetarian kitchen can cater for up to 30 people. More people can eat in the living room. Our cuisine as guests testify is delicious. Internationally influenced, it is prepared and served by cooks committed to the respect of good food and individual dietary needs. Much of the food is organically grown and we can cater for vegan diets, wheat/gluten/dairy free diets, diabetic requirements etc.

Accommodation The Centre can accommodate up to 40 people. Sleeping is arranged in four dormitories with 28 beds, four single and four double rooms en-suite.
