The Burrenbeo Trust - Creating a new vision for the Burren.
The Burrenbeo Trust is a membership charity, set up to create a greater appreciation of the Burren region.
This is carried out through providing heritage education to adults and youths through the Ecobeo programme and the growing group of Burrenbeo Conservation Volunteers, information through various mediums (the Burren most used website; www.burrenbeo.com, the development of an award-winning CD, guided walks, lecture series amongst other things), and supports research on the future sustainable management of the Burren region.
The Burrenbeo Trust is a growing momentum in the Burren region.
It is an inclusive, membership-based organisation dedicated to the conservation of the Burren.
To succeed in its objectives, the Burrenbeo Trust needs your help. You can help by becoming a member of the Trust, promoting the Trust, offering your opinion and advice (on trust@burrenbeo.com) or by attending our heritage walks and talks, becoming a participant on the Burrenbeo Conservation Volunteers, visiting our information centre in Kinvara or signing up to one of our heritage courses.
The Burrenbeo Trust has the following objectives:
To create a greater appreciation of the Burren as a living landscape of international importance.
To promote its holistic and self-sustaining conservation and development through research on best practice nationally and internationally.
To engage farming families and local communities in the decision-making processes affecting the area.
To promote dialogue between interested parties at local, regional and national level
To raise the consciousness of local children, their parents and families on the very special nature of the Burren through outreach work in local schools.
To suggest models of sustainable ecological and economic development.
