Clare Three-Legged Stool was founded in 2003 to celebrate the poetic work of men and women from North, South, and East - the three "halves" of Clare. There are at present some 16 members in the group which, to date, has produced two anthologies, a broadsheet, and Hidden Burren, a photographic essay on North Clare by Ilsa Thielen accompanied by verse. Two other calendars, one on East and one on West Clare, are planned following the same poetry-craft mix.
Up to now the group has met each month to help encourage new work of the members and of others interested in joining. Four "Open Mic" sessions in Glór on the third Saturday of every month are a new departure as they will be creating a stronger profile for the group, encouraging new people to join in, and endeavouring to bridge the gap between poetry and the public, poetry and music by having a musician in attendance at each session.
The sessions take place in the Atrium in glór, Ennis
