CITIZENS INFORMATION SERVICE

Citizens Information Centres are countrywide voluntary organisations operating throughout Ireland providing free, confidential and impartial information, advice and advocacy services to members of the public, on their rights and entitlements.

The centres are stocked with a full range of information on civil and social rights and entitlements and on state and other services.

CICs access information through the Citizens Information Database and through local sources.

The national network of Citizens Information Centres are there for the benefit of the community and backed by Comhairle.

The Centres have access to up-to-date information on all matters of public concern, i.e. Health, Social Welfare, Taxation, Housing, Consumer Affairs and other matters including information on local organisations and services your entitlements, the best options that are open to you, receive help filling out a form, following up your enquiry or with an appeal if necessary.

Location  - Bindon Lane, (opposite the Main Post Office on Bindon Street), Ennis Co. Clare. The centre is accessible to people with disabilities and has parking facilities at the back of the building.

We have a Mobile Unit which enables us to provide outreach services in Co. Clare

The Citizens Information Board is the statutory body which supports the provision of information, advice and advocacy on a broad range of public and social services. It provides the Citizens Information website, www.citizensinformation.ie, and supports the voluntary network of Citizens Information Centres and the Citizens Information Phone Service 0761 07 4000. It also funds and supports the Money Advice and Budgeting Service (MABS) 0761 07 2000 and the National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities. The Citizens Information Board provides the dedicated Mortgage Arrears Information Helpline 0761 07 4050.
