Vision:

Shannon family Resource centre aims to support and encourage individuals and families to use and develop their own skills, knowledge and experience to enhance the quality of their lives and the life of the community.

The ethos and activities of the Resource Centre will be based on the principles of:

• Equality
• Inclusion
• Empowerment

Objectives:

• To offer a centrally based, friendly and accessible place for people to meet, relax, exchange ideas and avail of services provided.

• To identify and develop services/supports which are community based, people focused and accessible and which aim to take into account the diverse needs of individuals and families in Shannon.

• To identify gaps and complement existing community training and education services.  The training and education provided will be tailored to the needs of the target groups either through the Family Resource Centre or by lobbying existing service providers.

• To promote community development as a way of working and as a way of highlighting the inequalities and social exclusion in the community.

AIMS: 

• The Shannon Family Resource Centre Ltd helps combat disadvantage and social exclusion by supporting families and individuals.

• To act as the first step to community participation and social inclusion for the most vulnerable and marginalized families and individuals.
