This is hands on building a water pumping windmill, used for pumping water from a well, borehole, spring or other water source to a much higher location into storage tanks. These machines pump water and use no electricity.
Details:
Day 1:
Morning: tea/ coffee on arrival.
Showing a working windmill, its design, its parts, sizing and storm protection.
Water usage and sizing. Head and flow.
Light lunch provided: 1pm to 2pm.
Hands on fabricating machine, bearings, cam and frame.
Day 2:
Morning: tea/ coffee on arrival.
Mast fabrication. This is a 7.5m mast, built as a frame. The mast is extremely cheap to build and will hold a large turbine. We allow for it to hinge up into place, and we have a platform on the mast.
Light Lunch provided: 1pm to 2pm.
Finish Mast and windpump.
Day 3:
Morning: tea/ coffee on arrival.
Installing machine and connecting to pump, and testing.
Light Lunch Included: 1pm to 2pm.
We show again the important design keypoints which include the automatic furling, storm protection, how the water pump works, & distances, filters, storage, volume and heights.
