Creating an Outdoor Classroom - Summer course for teachers Aine ni Flathartha (ISSA Education Coordinator) and Grainne Vaughan (former ISSA staff)
Teachers will work through the development of a garden from choosing and mapping a site, making raised beds and a compost area, sowing seeds and caring for plants, and developing new native habitats and identifying existing ones.
There will be a strong emphasis on developing practical skills and how to garden organically. We will also look at the curricular links and how to use the garden to teach the curriculum in a fun and interactive way with practical projects to develop with the different classes.
Held in conjunction with the Department of Education – contact Irish Seed Savers for cost and more information.
