NEW ENCAUSTIC WAX ART COURSE @ ST. FLANNAN’S COLLEGE
· Learn a new art form with June Choppin over 3 weeks · Encaustic paintings are produced by melting pigmented dyed beeswax onto a specific low heat iron, & then smoothing the melted wax onto a special coated card. · The effects & colours are very vibrant and no two creations are the same, which makes the process unique. Anything from landscapes to surreal abstract images can be created in just seconds. Your work can be framed, made into greetings card, key rings and bookmarks. · It can also be used on canvas, glass, wood etc any surface that is non absorbent. · On day One June will teach the basics: you will learn how to use the iron & master the technique. During the 2nd class you will make beautiful handcrafted cards from your artwork and by the 3rd class you will take home your masterpiece framed, to hang & admire! · All materials will be provided, just come along to the class, it’s fun & you will be hooked from day 1.
