Explanation Through Clay by Sarah Comerford, Sinead O'Connell,  Zania Koppe & Diane Reid @ The Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon 

The title 'Explanations' comes from the difficulties that arise with putting forward something so personal and then feeling the need to back up or explain its purpose, to clarify the idea behind it.

Working with clay and its different firing/ drying stages can be unpredictable and the process can tend to go its own way.

Explanations are necessary but can have a huge impact on the viewers' impression of the finished work.
