CALL FOR APPLICATIONS IN SCARRIFF LIBRARY GALLERY
Applications are now being invited to be included in this local exhibition during the month of February, in the beautiful gallery exhibition space of an Leabharlann Phoiblí an Scairbhe, Co. an Chláir
We will be selecting to showcase (and if applicable, and possible, to demonstrate) the works of:
1. Three visual / craft artists
2. Three musical / performance artists/groups
3. Three culinary craftsmen (those in the world of Food!) / Misc. or Wildcard
This will be an exhibition
... to nourish the spirit, and hopefully to inspire local initiative and appreciation of those creative sources and communities around us. It will be an opportunity for everyone of any age to be an audience of, and witness to facilitate an exchange and dialogue of originality and energy from producer to receiver.
... to try out some of those crafts, arts, or skills which those exhibiting offer. (eg, One of the culinary artists may offer a baking workshop one week; representatives of a drama group may offer theatre games another week; etc..)
It will also afford those selected to exhibit a chance to promote their group/business, etc. We recognise that business doesn't have to be solely one-dimensional; that it is a challenge for those in the less linear sector to hold their own in a less than perfect system, and of course in the unstable nature in our last era of human developments (economically, politically, culturally, morally, education, reform, spiritual values!?, etc.), that we as a cultural collective are open to finding different ways of doing what we have "always been doing". To bridge the gap between ideal and practice; between limitations and sustainable solutions.
Perhaps a chance to fulfill that premise, (or to enjoy the attempt) ~
"No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it."
